Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone
Here I was invited to be apart of a local instagram creatives meetup in Milwaukee. This small, local event was planned by staff of a local magazine called Copywrite.
I did know a couple people involved in this but I almost didn't go.Other than being able to admit, I am a bit of an introvert, I didn't know why I didn't want to go, but being an introvert, there really docent need to be a reason but a feeling. Despite all that, I chose to go anyway!
While I was there I was able to see old friends and network and meet new people who were also involved in photography and fashion styling. There was also a fashion designer there showcasing her work as well. I personally, generally, always use off camera flash or a reflector for my photography and this gave me the opportunity to just use natural lighting.
It wasn't my first time relying on natural lighting, of course, but if I can avoid it I would. So you can imagine how that can be even a little bit of a challenge since it's not something I'm used to. With the help of editing I was able to get the photos where I wanted them to be. It defiantly helped the it wasn't an overly sunny day.
Had I not just said yes to this harmless and fun networking opportunity, I just wouldn't have had the experience I did in this new place with some new people!
